Our Story
The story of Artgentina has its origins in a single founder's passion for Argentinian craftsmanship, discovered during his adolescence. The founder was captivated by the meticulous work of local artisans, admiring the unique fusion of creativity and durability evident in their work. Driven by the desire to share the exceptional know-how and superior quality of Argentine craftsmanship with the world, Artgentina was born from the creation of everyday objects distinguished by innovation, excellence and a rich, unique history.
This tradition has its roots in the arrival of European settlers to a land of extraordinary dimensions, where adaptation was the only way. In these vast landscapes, often treeless and populated by pumas, the first gauchos were born, embodying the cowboys of the world's extremes.
These experts of the Patagonian pampas and steppes played a crucial role in helping the Argentine government conquer Patagonia, develop cattle breeding and create the many tools needed to thrive in this austere environment.
Artgentina's products are inspired by the culture of the indigenous peoples who have inhabited this part of the world for millennia. This inspiration is visible in the choice of materials and design, notably through the Mapuche motif, Guarda Pampa, which is omnipresent in gaucho craftsmanship.
Although Argentina and today's gauchos have evolved, the tradition remains unchanged. Gaucho craftsmanship continues to be a mainstay of everyday Argentine life, in rural work as well as at traditional barbecues, known as asados.
Artgentina aims to convey a vision of Argentina that celebrates both its ancestral heritage and the quality and boundless innovation of its craftsmanship. The aim is to enable everyone, wherever they are in the world, to enjoy this unique heritage, a legacy from the ends of the earth shaped through centuries of exploration and preservation of the wilderness.
